5I like the fact that Cloudberry is just a desktop product that works with my existing S3 account. I have no idea where my data is stored and how secure it is with other online backup services. When I use Cloudberry I can verify with S3Fox that my data is in my Amazon S3 bucket and that it is encrypted.

5I use Windows Home Server (and am a big fan of it), but options for off-site data backup have been very limited from the start. One of Cloudberry’s competitors initially offered a “beta” plugin for use with S3, but it was terribly limited in configuration options and support has since been withdrawn by the company. I’ve since tried every other backup option for WHS, but Cloudberry’s most recent entry into the market brought my search for the perfect backup solution to an end. Cloudberry offers a full-featured WHS backup plugin that looks every bit as polished as it is a joy to use. Backups can be scheduled and set to run automatically, with email notifications of their status; drive extender is fully supported; you can configured white lists, black lists, etc., to backup or ignore certain file types; and Cloudberry saves in a format that is fully readable to other S3 applications. On top of that, support from Cloudberry is phenomenal…staff is always hanging around their support forum, and emails to company staff never went longer than mere hours before I would receive a reply. Truly an A+ operation all around. I love Cloudberry Backup!

5I’ve just installed Cloudberry Backup for WHS and first impressions are very positive. It integrates into WHS as a very polished add-in. The options are many, and it’s very easy to navigate. I’ve been able to setup 2 backup jobs without any issues at all. The S3 storage from Amazon goes hand in hand with this product and is a great introduction to Cloud(berry) storage!

4.5I have been using Cloudberry Online Backup since it was in beta testing. Every product that I have tried from Cloudberry has been outstanding. The are constantly improving their current products as Amazon and other cloud providers expand their feature offerings. The Cloudberry Online Backup solution provides a simple and elegant means to backup your important data. The program is stream-lined and easy to use–I was up and running in a matter of moments. I look forward to staying with this product and seeing what the future holds for it.

3.5I’ve tried a number of backup services and products. I eventually settled on Amazon S3 for backup. I then tried several methods to upload and sync with Amazon. I found Cloudberries online backup to be the easiest and most reliable for backing up my 3GB of data. But it is not perfect.
I regularly change timezones. When I change timezones, I update my windows 7 computer timezone to my current location. Now when I run Cloudberry Online Backup it thinks all of my data has changed (it thinks that the date modified timestamp for each file has changed) ….. Consequently, it now wants to backup all my files again! AGGGHH! FRUSTRATING. Why do I need to do a complete backup when I change timezones?
Even with this defect, I have remained with Cloudberry .. at least until a more reliable solution appears.
